I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect advent calendar idea …
When the kids were little they took great joy in counting down the days in December. It hung on the kitchen door and each morning they would debate whose turn it was to attach the little Velcro ornaments to the calendar …
and debate which little felted ornament should hang on which day.
For me, it’s presence in the kitchen was a constant and ominous reminder that Christmas day was drawing near …
tick, tick, tick, tick.
But when I spotted this creative 12 Days of Christmas calendar idea made with mason jars lids, I was intrigued. Inspired. And thinking I may need to make one of my own.

You and I must of had the same advent calendar for our kids. Now my grandkids love it. Of course it doesn’t make it out by December 1st anymore….
