Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Mason Jars – Old White.
I’ve lost count of how many mason jars I’ve painted and distressed in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White …
These, by far, are my biggest seller at the Etsy shop. And I can see why. The neutral color complements almost any decor. They’re also very popular for weddings, showers and events.
And personally, my preferred “medium” for painting mason jars is chalk paint. It goes on thick, offering great coverage. Just two coats does the trick. And the distressing (while a bit messy and dusty) is the most satisfying. Because sometimes distressing an acrylic paint finish can be unpredictable — with a bit more than you hoped chipping off.
Finally, chalk paint forms the strongest bond with the glass jars. And while not indestructible, you would have to put a great deal of effort and scrubbing to remove the finish. A. Lot. Of. Effort.

The link to the tutorial lists acrylic paint – not Annie Sloan chalk paint? I want to use Annie Sloan – i have some on hand; would i use same instructions?
Linda says
Absolutely! The instructions are the same regardless of the paint used.

Do you ever put wax over your chalk paint? If so what is your technique?
Linda says
I have not, but you could try! I would use same technique as on furniture.
