I would love to claim I came up with the candy corn mason jar idea …
but, alas, I did not.
I found my inspiration here. Along with an excellent how to …
and is it okay that I love these candy corn mason jars so much more than the candy corn candy that inspired this project?
How to Make Candy Corn Mason Jars
1. Spray paint jars white
Let dry.
2. Spray paint band of orange in center.
Let dry.
3. Spray paint yellow on bottom half.
When I spray painted the orange band and the yellow bottom band, I held the jar in my hand. Away from my body. And rotated the jar around as I shook the can frequently …
It’s a shake shake shake. Then spray while moving the can fluidly to the left. A shake shake shake. Then spray while moving the can fluidly to the right …
Rinse. Repeat.

Love these!
Question: your last instruction “Rinse. Repeat” Are you actually waiting for the last color to dry and then rinsing and repeating the whole process?
Thanks!

These are some of my favorites, and not sure why, it’s not like candy corn are my fav candy.

Thank you for sharing! I tried to make these using Krylon gloss spray paint and I cannot get the paint to do what I want it to do. It separates and bubbles. I tried cleaning the jars with rubbing alcohol thinking there was residue on them but nothing, still happens… Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

This is about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! I just got three old jars at a thrift store the other day for 50 cents each. Now I think I know their destiny. Thanks! -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin

Ah, I’m getting ready to do the same with wine bottles but it seems like jars would work better. Maybe stick a candle in them for a little candy corn glow. Thanks for sharing! Question: Do you rinse the jars after you put the first coat of the 3 colors?
Becky says
Love this! I’m really curious about the black roses as well. Are they real or did you DIY these?
Linda says
They are actually fake flowers that I spray painted with black spray paint!

These are adorable…however I paint the entire jar white, let dry…then when I attempt to apply the orange, it bubbles and looks horrible. What am I doing wrong?
Linda says
I stopped offering this particular set at my Etsy shop because of the very same thing happening! I had to keep throwing out jars. I tried extending dry times between layers but that didn’t seem to help! Instead I make this set now: https://masonjarcraftslove.com/candy-corn-mason-jars-for-halloween/

I have a lot of trouble with the whole Santa Claus/Easter Bunny thing – my wife does it all (kind of hade-heartflly though) and I just watch. I just can't bring myself to lie to my kids, even if it is fun. I don't know why!
