I’ve been wanting to etch mason jars for the longest time …
and for the longest time I’ve had all the materials. Clean surface mason jar mugs. Check. Adhesive letter stickers. Check. Etching medium. Check.
I’m not sure why I didn’t do this sooner. It truly is really easy.
Just position the sticker on the mason jar mug.
These reusable, adhesive stickers are from Martha Stewart. I found them at Michaels. You can also find them at this (affiliate) link on Amazon.
Apply a thick coat of etching cream. Again, from Martha Stewart. And, again, found at Michaels.
Let sit for 15-minutes. Rinse with warm water.
That’s it!
So easy that it left me scratching my head why this took me so long!
Linda
P.S. Per Martha’s instructions, these are top shelf dishwasher safe.

Do you think etching would work well with the colored (e.g., green; blue) mason jars?
Linda says
Interesting question. I think the biggest thing you need is a nice, clean surface. So trying it on a Ball or Kerr jar with the raised logos would definitely not work. But if it’s a colored surface that is clean and clear, I think it could work! 🙂 Linda

I love this! And want to do it for my wedding. I can’t seem to find the sticker stencils. Is there a way you can leave the link to the stencils ?

I added the link to the post, but here it is on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2Sjo8hG
