The cookie jar takes on a whole new meaning when you put cookies in a mason jar …
it’s a much more literal interpretation.
When I saw this Ball Wide Mouth 1 1/2 pint jar, I immediately knew what I wanted to do with it …
because my friend Elena at a casarella had already given me the idea (click here …)
Genius, right?
And while Elena used a pasta cylinder, I thought this 1 1/2 pint mason jar would work equally as well.
Some might even say better … 😉
Seriously, though, how fun would it be to package up your holiday cookies in mason jars and give them to friends and family?
To add a bit of holiday spirit, I added some wrapping paper on the lid …
I suppose you can add a bow and perhaps decorate the jar …
but I’m kind of digging the simplicity of this look.
Clean and classic.

Ball Canning provided me with a case of the amazing 1 1/2 pint jar I used in this post. Thank you Ball Canning! But all opinions about this amazing 1 1/2 pint jar are my own.

(I should also add that my daughter *just* presented her BFF with some cookies in a mason jar last week–but it was just a normal wide mouth jar–not one of these beauties!)
