Snowman Mason Jars – Mason Jar Crafts for Winter.
I like a good snowman.
You know why?
Because a good snowman is not just Christmas. Not just holiday …
a good snowman is winter.
And as such, a good snowman can go up as decor anytime after Thanksgiving … and can stay up as decor well into February.
My sister likes a good snowman too. And that’s how she decorates for the holidays (and beyond through winter). With snowmen.
So I’m thinking my sister might be a fan of this snowman mason jar. Especially when she discovers how easy it is to make …
How to Make a Snowman Mason Jar
Materials*
White Paint (I used Rustoleum Chalk Paint, but you can use acrylic paint too)
Black Paint (I used acrylic, but spray paint works too)
Glue (I used Weldbond)
Black Buttons
Red Felt
*affiliate links included.
Start with two coats of paint. Let dry completely between coats (chalk paint dries pretty quickly; for acrylic paint let dry overnight between coats).
Once completely dry (I tend to give it overnight), distress along raised edges with 80 grit sandpaper.
Paint lids and bands black. I gave them a coat of primer first and then two coats of black. I would recommend using spray paint for a cleaner look.
Glue on buttons.
Let dry overnight.
Cut scarf from felt.
And assemble (bird on top is optional ;).
