Glass paint on mason jars. I’ve tried it. In fact, I tried it as a way to tint them and make them look vintage. And I can sum up that experience in one word … disaster!
Seriously. It just didn’t work. Didn’t get the effect right. It was murky. And cloudy. And dull …
* Shudder *
But Heather at Whipperberry came up with a much better idea. In fact, I’d go so far as to call it brilliant. Using glass paint to add polka dots to one of Ball Canning brands quilted mason jars!
So cute. So fun. So perfect to use as fun glasses at a party, as Heather so sagely suggests.
And so why didn’t I think of that?!?

What kind of paint did you use on the bottles, please?
Is it a transparent or enamel?

Dorothy – glass paint was used, which can be found in most craft stores. If you clicked the link to the original project you can even see an image of the exact paint she used. Here’s the link again for your convenience: http://whipperberry.com/2012/08/decoart-glass-paint-polka-dot-jars.html
