Thumbprint Flower Mason Jar.
Sunflowers in a sunflower painted mason jar. To some it may seem redundant …
but to me it seems fitting. 🙂
This thumbprint flower mason jar is such a simple project. One that’s a great mason jar craft idea to make with the kids. Sure, it may get a little messy with paint on thumbs and all … but that’s what makes it so much fun.
For the kids, that is … 😉
How To Make A Thumbprint Flower Mason Jar
Step 1: Start with a painted & distressed mason jar in white. You can find a detailed tutorial on how to paint and distress a mason jar by clicking here.
Step 2: Using your finger (I used my index finger but kids can use their thumbs) dip in brown acrylic craft paint and add a dot to the center of the jar. Wash hands.
Step 3: Following the same thumbprint (or index finger) as in step 2, dip finger in yellow acrylic craft paint and add dots around brown center dot. Let dry.
(Optional) Step 4: Use a fine tipped paint brush to add green acrylic paint “seeds” to center brown dot.
Step 5: Once dry (give it 24 hours) spray with a matte finish clear coat sealant (you can find at the craft store).
All that’s left is to add the flowers of your choice and you’re done. Your thumbprint flower mason jar vase is complete!
