Car in Jar Snow Globe

Mason Jar Crafts for Christmas: Red Volkswagen Beetle Snow Globe in Mason Jar

I realize we’re only a few weeks into Fall. I realize we still have Halloween crafts in mason jars to make. I realize we still have Thanksgiving crafts in mason jars to make. But can you forgive me for jumping ahead to Christmas …

just this one time?

Because, quite honestly, I don’t think I can wait a moment longer before sharing my latest car in mason jar snow globes. I searched high and low for this vintage red Volkswagen Beetle (finally found some on eBay). And that red woody station wagon (could only snag 3 on eBay but hoping to find more to stock at my Etsy).

MATERIALS USED & SOURCES

Let’s start with the sources and links for materials. I have to admit that I spent two weeks searching for the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Country Squire Station Wagons with Wood Panels. I found mine on eBay but wiped out the stock at each seller. However, here are the specific details about the vintage cars I used in my snow globes:

How To Make A Car In Jar Snow Globe

Mason Jar Crafts: Christmas Mason Jar Snow Globe Craft Idea

Cut the bottom plastic piece off bottle brush tree using wire cutters.

The windows on the Volkswagen Beetle do not open. So I wrapped the Baker’s twine around the car.  I started by taping the twine to the bottom of the car.

Wrap the twine twice around the car to attach the tree.

For the Ford station wagon, I was able to feed the twine through the front window.

  1. Very cute! Early is good, too. 🙂

  2. Adorable! I love the idea of the car and tree. I made those jars last year as gifts but used woodland animals with the trees. They were a hit. So easy!

  3. Do you glue the tires to the bottom of he jar?
