Car in Jar Snow Globe – Mason Jar Christmas Craft.
I realize we’re only a few weeks into Fall. I realize we still have Halloween crafts in mason jars to make. I realize we still have Thanksgiving crafts in mason jars to make. But can you forgive me for jumping ahead to Christmas …
just this one time?
Because, quite honestly, I don’t think I can wait a moment longer before sharing my latest car in jar snow globe. I searched high and low for this vintage red Volkswagen Beetle (finally found some on eBay). And that red woody station wagon (could only snag 3 on eBay but hoping to find more to stock at my Etsy).
MATERIALS USED & SOURCES*
Let’s start with the sources and links for materials I used to make this car in jar snow globe. I have to admit that I spent two weeks searching for the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Country Squire Station Wagons with Wood Panels. I found mine on eBay but wiped out the stock at each seller. However, here are the specific details about the vintage cars I used in my snow globes:
Volkswagen Beetle: Greenlight Diecast 1:64 Club V-Dub 49 VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 1 SPLIT WINDOW BEETLE Red
Woody Station Wagon: AUTO WORLD MUSCLE WAGONS 1964 FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE Red 1:64 scale
Ball Collection Elite Pint (16-oz.) Wide Mouth Jars (comes in set of 4)
Bottle Brush Trees, Snow, Jingle Bells
All craft stores carry these items seasonally. However, you can also find them on Amazon at the following links:

How To Make A Car In Jar Snow Globe
Cut the bottom plastic piece off bottle brush tree using wire cutters.
The windows on the Volkswagen Beetle do not open. So I wrapped the Baker’s twine around the car. I started by taping the twine to the bottom of the car.
Wrap the twine twice around the car to attach the tree.
And tie a knot to secure tree on top of car.
Add some faux snow on the bottom of the mason jar.
Add car with tree tied to top.
Wrap some twine around the canning lid and tie on some jingle bells.
And you’re done.
For the Ford station wagon, I was able to feed the twine through the front window.
I’m also selling these Car in Jar Mason Jar Snow Globes at my Etsy shop. The Beetle can be found by clicking here.
