Peeps Mason Jar – Easter Crafts with Mason Jars.
I’m not a peeps fan …
okay, that’s not 100% true.
I think they’re so cute. Colorful. Adorably sugar-coated all lined up in their packaging.
But I’m not a fan of actually eating a peeps.
My teeth hurt just thinking about it!
But (somehow) it’s not Easter without some peeps.
So I decided to embrace the peep … without having to actually eat the peep … by painting some peeps on a mason jar!
How To Make Painted Peeps Mason Jar
Materials*
Regular Mouth Pint Mason Jar (16 oz)
White Paint (I used Rust-Oleum Chalked Paint in Linen White)
Americana Bubble Gum Pink Acrylic Paint
Americana Bright Yellow Acrylic Paint
Americana Cayman Blue Acrylic Paint
Americana Lavender Acrylic Paint
Paint Brushes
Toothpicks
Matte Sealant (this is my favorite brand)

Start with two coats of white paint. Let dry overnight between coats … and before moving on to next step.
I used chalked paint. You can also use acrylic white paint.
Once completely dry (I let dry overnight), distress with 80 grit sandpaper.
Add a dot of pink paint. This will be the peep’s head.
Use a toothpick to pull paint to form the peep’s ears.
Add a second pink dot for the peep’s body.
Add yellow peeps.
Add blue peeps.
Add lavender peeps.
Once peeps are dry, use a toothpick and black enamel paint to make eyes and noses.
Once completely dry (I give it an overnight), spray with matte sealant.
And there you have it. A sugar-and-calorie-free painted peeps mason jar!

adorable, thanks for sharing on craft schooling Sunday! Now I’m really curious to see what canning jars are available locally, only we are only allowed to go out for neccesities, like food, don’t think craft supplies would quite apply. Okay the truth is I’m not going out anyway to stay safe, so will just have to dream of mason jar crafts for now!
