Fourth of July Dessert

by Linda 5 Comments

fourth-of-july-dessert-recipe

The 4th of July is all about freedom. And fireworks.  And food?

That’s right, somewhere along the line our country’s independence became bundled up with burgers and brats and barbecues.  Not that I’m complaining …

…  pass the ketchup, please!

Chances are, you’re currently preparing for your own backyard barbecue celebration.  Probably whipping up your grocery list as you read this. And in that case, make sure you leave room on that list ~ and on the 4th of July ~ for this amazing no-bake red, white, and blue dessert from Kari at Thistlewood Farms.

And be sure to stick around and read Kari’s story too.  She’s the best storyteller in blogland!

You can find the recipe ~ and shopping list ~ by visiting Thistlewood Farms.

Because all of the kids will be home on the 4th to celebrate a combo 4th and Fathers Day we had to postpone, I am already plotting out what I will serve in mason jars. It may just be the silverware, but I’m plotting!

I love these — especially the bottles and that cute ‘stand’ you made from the plates and bowls! Great, simple ideas with a big impact.

LOL – so I had TWO sites open when I left that comment and obviously yours has nothing to do with bottles!! HAHA — but I AM heading over to check out this recipe. I’ve been doing a lot of different things with the Mason jars and this looks so refreshing!
