Here’s a crazy idea: using mason jars to actually preserve foods. Like this strawberry preserves recipe …
I know. Crazy, right?
There’s no paint involved. Or light kits. Or flowers …
Just some strawberries. And vanilla beans. And patience.
I was so thrilled when I found this recipe. I’m constantly throwing out strawberries. Because they’re too ripe. Or too mushy. And I know my strawberry-loving daughter won’t eat them if they’re too mushy or too bruised.
And I feel guilty each and every time for wasting food …
But now I have an amazing new use for those over-ripe mushy and bruised strawberries. An amazing new strawberry preserves recipe that my daughter will love. And my son too …
You can find the recipe at My Kitchen Addiction.
