Mason Jar Santa Suit Cozy with Duck Tape

by Linda 2 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand® for IZEA Worldwide. All opinions are 100% mine.

Can you believe it was only six years ago that I had never even heard of mason jars?

I’m serious.

No idea. Nothing. Nada. Nunca.

Didn’t know what they were. Didn’t know what they were used for. Didn’t know their history. And definitely didn’t see them as anything I would ever have in my home …

let alone decorate with!

But now?

Now they are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. In every room.

Holding toothbrushes in bathrooms.

Holding flowers as vases in the living room.

Holding liquids as drink-ware in the kitchen.

And during the holidays? During the holidays they become an integral part of my holiday entertaining … So when Duck® brand duct tape asked me if I wanted to do some mason jar holiday crafting with their amazing holiday-colored Duck Tape this year, I knew exactly what to make: Mason jar Santa suit cozies!

You know, to hold the milk that goes with the plate of cookies we leave out for Santa!

How To Make Mason Jar Santa Suit Cozy with Duck Tape

Materials

Color Duck Tape® (1.88″ width in red & white)

Paper

Black buttons (2 per jar)

Scissors

Cut a piece of paper 10 1/2″ x 2 3/4.” This will serve as the base for the cozy.

Cover the 10 1/2″ by 2 3/4″ strip of white paper with white Duck Tape.

You’ll need two lengths of white Duck Tape to cover the width of the cozy. Trim excess at the ends.

Cut a strip of red Duck Tape about two inches longer than the cozy length (12 1/2″+ long). Lay down the center of the cozy, leaving a little less than a 1/2″ of white Duck Tape exposed on either side.

Trim the red tape on one end flush with the cozy length and leave about 1/2″ to 3/4″ extra length of red on the other end (this will be used to secure the cozy around the mason jar (see below)

You can see how the extra 1/2″ to 3/4″ length of red tape will line up to secure the cozy around the jar.

Like so.

Add two black buttons on each jar, using a small folded over piece of Duck Tape on the back side of the buttons to secure.

And now you’re ready for Santa’s arrival on Christmas Eve!

A few added features about these Duck Tape Santa suit cozies: Not only are they stain resistant (thanks to stain resistant Duck® brand duct tape!), they can be easily cleaned with a damp rag.

Oh, and they can also be reused because they’re made with durable Duck Tape that gives them long lasting life! And also because … they’re removable! Cool, right?

Now doesn’t that make those cookies taste even yummier and that milk taste even colder? 🙂
