April showers bring May flowers …
and boy did we have April showers in Chicago.
Day after day after day of gray skies and sheets of rain.
And you know what?
Chicago is now abloom with tulips!
They are overflowing from planters along Michigan Avenue. They are gracing the front entryways of condominiums along Lake Shore Drive. They are sprouting from my neighbors front yards …
and they are giving me some serious tulip envy. 😉
Each April/May when the ground thaws and those tulips peak their heads out from under a winters-long frozen tundra, I kick myself for not planting bulbs the previous Fall.
And each May I vow, “This is the year I will plant tulip bulbs”
And each year, come Fall, I somehow forget all about my May tulip bulb planting vow.
Sigh.
Dare I even say it? Dare I even make a proclamation about Fall 2017? Or am I just blinded by all the tulip glory going on around Chicago?
What I can promise is a free May calendar page 2017 featuring tulip inspiration …
in mason jars, of course!
