Can you believe it’s almost September …
where has the time gone?
It feels like it was just yesterday that we were wrapping up the school year. Picking up one from college. Seeing the other through her finals days of her freshman year of high school.
And then we were planning for summer. A job picking up trash at Wrigley Field for my son. Plus college classes locally to make up some missing credits (yes, they still stress you out when they’re in college too!). A summer camp volunteer junior counselor position with the Chicago Park District for my daughter.
In-between, there were outings with friends and sleepovers. A few beach days along Lake Michigan for mom.
Oh, and lots and lots of walks with the dog …
Our annual pilgrimage to visit my folks in Florida came and went. And just this past weekend, we moved our son back into college for his second year.
It was a little easier leaving him this time around. He’s comfortable in his new space. And he has friends that he was already making plans with as we unloaded the car …
Now it’s the countdown to the first day of high school sophomore year for my daughter.
And when I looked at the calendar to see how much time we have left to get her ready, I was shocked.
Shocked, I tell you!
Because September is just a stone’s throw away.
