Nothing says I love you mom on Mother’s Day like a homemade gift of lavender mint scented bath salts …
packaged nice and pretty in a mason jar, of course.
And, no, this gift doesn’t say, Mom you smell stinky and need to take a bath. Pronto.
Nope. Not at all. This talking bath salts gift says, Mom I love you so much that I want you to pamper yourself with a nice, hot steaming lavender and mint scented tub. And, yes, please let me pour you another glass of wine …
This mason jar project is so easy you can whip it up in 10 minutes. Tops.
lavender mint bath salt recipe
1 Ball Elite Pint Mason Jar
Lavender Paper & Ribbon
1 1/2 cups Epsom salt
1/2 cup Baking Soda
4-5 drops lavender oil*
2-3 drops peppermint oil
15-20 drops lilac soap colorant* (optional)
In a large bowl, mix Epsom salt and baking soda. Add 4-5 drops of lavender oil. Mix well. Add 2-3 drops peppermint oil. Mix well. (Optional) Add 15-20 lilac soap colorant until reach desired color.
All that’s left is to package it up in a mason jar. I cut out a piece of lavender paper to fit the wide mouth lid (just trace the lid onto a piece of paper) and added a small wood scoop, lavender ribbon and faux lavender sprig.
Oh, and be forewarned, this gift will elicit many, many hugs and kisses from mom.
Happy Mother’s Day!
