Easy Heart Cut Out Mason Jar Votive – Valentine Mason Jar Craft Ideas.
I love a cut out on a mason jar votive. Whether it’s a tree or a leaf or a heart. In fact, I’ve been admiring (and hoping to emulate) a number of heart cut out mason jars that use paint …
but I don’t have a fancy vinyl cutter to make that perfect heart stick on that will give you that perfect heart with zero paint bleed through.
And I’ve tried creating my own using painter’s tape. But the results have been a mixed bag.
And then it struck me: paper!
Yes, paper.
I could cut out whatever I wanted from paper. And then wrap that paper around the mason jar. Attach with tape (how easy is that!) and voila!
The perfect heart cut out mason jar votive!
How To Make An Easy Heart Cut Out Mason Jar Votive
Materials*
Wide Mouth Pint-Size (16 oz) Mason Jars
Heart Scrapbook Paper (12 x 12 sheets)
Heart Cookie Cutter

Start with some heart-themed scrapbook paper and a heart cookie cutter.
Cut a length of your paper 3 1/4″ x 12″
Trace a heart, using your cookie cutter, in the center of the paper strip. (I just eyeballed it).
Gently fold paper in half (try not to crease too much) and cut out heart shape.
Lay flat and smooth crease.
Center heart on mason jar (again, I eyeballed).
Tape in place on back side of jar.
Fold over or cut slight excess of paper strip and tape on back of jar to secure.
Add a ribbon (optional).
And you’re almost done ….
Just add tea lights (or flame-less candles).
