Is it just me, or does Mother’s Day sneak up on you?
It feels like it should be celebrated when it’s much, much warmer outside.
Though that might just be me since I live in Chicago and the month of May is iffy. At best. 😉
There was a time in my life when Mother’s Day was anticipated. Even planned for with great fanfare.
It started out innocently enough when my mother and sisters would come (sans kids and husbands) to spend a weekend in Chicago with me. This is when I first moved here and wasn’t even a mother! 😉
But mom was in Florida. My sister Carol had relocated to Montana. And my sister Janet remained in New Jersey. Chicago turned out to be a perfect, centrally located meeting point.
And then …
Once I joined the sisterhood of motherhood, we moved our Mother’s Day celebrations to Las Vegas.
Yes, quite decadent of us!
Those were some great years filled with great memories.
