Today is May and I have to tell you …

I’m not ready.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m absolutely thrilled to see the winter in my rear view mirror.

I’m just not ready for the warmer days ahead.

I’m not ready to shed the layers of winter (and the layers of winter weight hidden underneath).

I’m not ready for shorts ….

and sharing my pasty white legs.

I’m not ready for an 80 degree day today in Chicago.

Sigh.

And with all that said, I’m happy it’s May.

I’m looking forward to seeing leaves on the trees again. And watching the perennials poke their heads up through the thawed earth.

And maybe I can just replace that winter coat layer with a cardigan as I work out a little harder at the gym.

And maybe I should take a quick trip to Florida to tan up those legs!
