Can you believe I couldn’t find a single project featuring a Santa hat lid on a mason jar? I Googled it …
and then I Google imaged it.
I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to share with you a project that has been so overdone. That you wouldn’t show up here and be like, “Oh no, not another Santa hat mason jar …
how unoriginal!”
And that, my friends, is my biggest fear. Being unoriginal …
So, here’s how I went about creating my – hopefully – original Santa hat mason jar …
I started with my supplies. An old Santa hat. A boa. A mason jar. A teeny tiny belt that came with my daughter’s boots from Target but we didn’t like the teeny tiny belt on the boot look. And some black washi tape.
I put the hat on the mason jar and put a rubber band around the lid. And then I cut …
I used the glue gun to attach the boa …
And the I added a bit of batting inside the hat …
… just to fluff it up a bit. Like so …
For the belt, I simple covered up the brown with washi tape black …
And I was done …
All that was left was filling it with some candy …
… for a fun gift idea.
This project is part of a multi-blog Holiday Mason Jar Extravaganza. Be sure to check out the creations my co-hosts are featuring today …

Extremely festive and very clever! Wonder if a cat collar would work if we don’t have any belted boots lying about?
