July is a month filled with birthdays …

well, a month filled with birthdays in my family.

But there is the most important birthday in July that we all celebrate – the birth of our nation on July 4th!

Then there’s the second most important birthday in July that we can all celebrate too – my birthday on the 14th!

😉

My mother’s birthday comes two days later. This year she turns 86! Wow!

And a week later is my brother’s birthday.

To be honest, I never minded sharing a July birthday with the birth of our nation. It was always a nice reminder that I was born in the heart of the summer. And growing up, my heart always belonged to summer!

The whole sharing with other family members is a whole other thing. Especially when I was much younger … and world (should have) centered around me!

You remember that time in your life … right? When you wanted to stand apart … stand out … be unique and different from everyone else. And sharing a birthday month with two family members put a damper on that!

But now that I’m older … and (hopefully) much wiser, I’ve come to love sharing a birthday month with my mom. And brother!
